Thandupathu in Tutucorin district (TN) is my native place. My Dad and my fore fathers are from this land. I born and brought up in Chennai, But I don’t want to forget my own land and origin. So I use to refer my native place as Thandupathu - Tutucorin.
People: The population is around 2,000 and most of them are settled in cities like Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai etc. but its known to every one in the district because Thandupathu is a land of Rulers with 3 Ex- State Minister’s cum MLA and 1 Rajya Sabha MP in the Political History ! Business is the main occupation for most of the people. Most of them belong to Hindu nadar community.
Geography: It’s a place with rich fertilized red soil and called "Theri" region (refers to river bank)
